The TikTok Shop, which was previously banned in Indonesia, will resume its operations. This was officially announced through a press release on the official TikTok Indonesia website. As of December 11, 2023, TikTok Shop is once again available, and old sellers can access their stores.

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has approved a $1.5 billion investment for a joint venture with the GoTo Group. This joint venture will have control over the re-launched TikTok Shop. 

The collaboration is believed to boost Indonesia's economy and aid numerous small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM). The return of TikTok Shop is anticipated to assist small business owners in expanding their online business reach.
